A Chromium-based browser, with privacy built in.
ACT Browser keeps the speed, security and extension support of the open-source Chromium engine, and adds what plain Chromium leaves out: automatic updates, ad blocking, a built-in VPN, malware protection and an AI agent when you want one.
ACT Browser, early design preview
What is a Chromium-based browser?
Chromium is the open-source browser project behind Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and many others.
Browsers built on it share the same page-rendering engine (Blink) and JavaScript engine (V8), so websites look and behave the same, and most Chrome Web Store extensions install normally. What sets them apart is everything around the engine: updates, privacy defaults, sync, and the features each team adds on top.
Plain Chromium builds are mainly for developers: they usually don’t update themselves and can’t sync with Google accounts. A Chromium-based browser like ACT Browser packages the same engine for everyday use.

Chromium, finished for everyday use.
Protection built in
Ad and tracker blocking, a built-in VPN and MicroAV malware protection, from the makers of AdFilter.pro and ElsewhereVPN.
An AI agent when you want one
Ask it to research, compare or summarise beside the page you’re on. It reads a page only when you ask.
Updates and sync, handled
Security updates install themselves, and your bookmarks and settings follow you between computers.
Chromium questions
Is this the official Chromium browser?
No. This site is about ACT Browser, an independent browser built on Chromium by Codexy Software LLC. The official Chromium project, run by Google and open-source contributors, is at chromium.org.
Is a Chromium-based browser safe?
Chromium has a strong security architecture, including site isolation and sandboxing. What matters is how quickly a browser ships Chromium’s security fixes. ACT Browser updates automatically so you get them without doing anything.
Will my Chrome extensions work?
Most extensions from the Chrome Web Store are built for Chromium and install normally in ACT Browser.
Is ACT Browser free?
Yes, ACT Browser is free to download and use.
When can I download it?
Early access starts with Windows, followed by macOS. Join the list above and we’ll email you when it’s ready.
